Tesla Model 3 Real Costs Switzerland 2026
27k km 2021 Standard Range Plus RWD. Added 10k+ km, 2k+/month vs. old 2009 Toyota Avensis SW. Frictionless—here’s why.
- Energy costs are a joke → Laughable vs 0.15-0.56 CHF/kWh electricity = 6 CHF/100km. No fuel stops, no fuel smells.
- Zero range anxiety → Real-world ~350 km range year-round (winter/summer) with my driving and climate use, mostly home-charged.
- Effortless drive → Super easy handling and stable feel; I average under 150 Wh/km on mixed driving when I’m not rushing. Smooth regen means I rarely touch the brakes.
- Silent cabin → No engine noise, no vibrations, auto temperature every drive—arrive noticeably less tired.
- Highway Autopilot → Stress-free arrivals, especially on long motorway runs where the car keeps distance, lane, and speed for you.
- Minimal maintenance → No oil changes, no exhaust, no clutch. Regen means brake pads last 100k+ km easily. I mostly think about regular washing (pearl white shows everything).
- No seasonal swaps → Pirelli Cinturato all-seasons tires cover my Switzerland use case just fine. City, highway, mild winter—let’s just see how many km they last with my grandwater driving style – very slow like turtle.
- OTA updates → New features overnight. Wake up, car does more.
- Beautiful design → Sleek, low, more efficient than Model Y. Still love old Model 3 body + new AMD Ryzen processor inside (drove a Paris taxi like that so some of they exist).
- No need for costly upgrades →
I keep it simple:
• No screen cover (maybe later), just towel for sun/overheating protection.
• Deactivated wireless charging + WiFi (connect only for OTA updates—no Premium Connectivity fee). Fewer EMF sources; don’t sit in car while charging/supercharging.
• HEPA filter swap 2x/year + simple grill protector.
Love the extra storage?
Frunk perfect for König CG-9 snow chains (Tesla-approved 19” Model 3, self-tensioning, Swiss snow-ready), washer fluid, snow brush. Under-back storage doesn’t freeze—no more frozen water bottles!
Why FWD version?
ostly AWD Model 3s on Swiss roads, but RWD fine if not hardcore mountain driving. Proper tyres + sensible style handles mild winters—single rear motor = better weight distribution, less EMF near legs, more efficiency. Best friend with Model Y wishes he’d picked Model 3 (no family/space needs).
Would I buy the same used Model 3 2021 today?
Yes—real parking sensors I like. Just want new Ryzen hardware in old body (Paris taxi had it—ideal).
Bonus: Built-in audio is very good; sound settings + tips in separate article.
Most efficient EV class
My 2021 RWD Standard Plus Range ~150 Wh/km real-world (winter/summer)—top-tier under 150 Wh/km, beats Hyundai Ioniq 6/Mercedes CLA Electric.
Why Tesla direct buy? → No dealer haggling. Got 1yr extra warranty + free Enhanced Autopilot.
